Wheel diameter is the largest wheel or disc the guard and spindle are designed for, commonly 4-1/2 or 5 inch on cordless grinders. A larger wheel gives more cut depth and reach. Never fit a wheel larger than rated, and check that the wheel's max RPM is at or above the grinder's speed.
